About AirdropAlert

AirdropAlert launched in June 2017 as the world's first crypto airdrop aggregator. Back then an airdrop meant a holder airdrop: you got tokens because you already held a coin, and almost nobody was tracking them. There were so few that we had to go out and create them.

Morten cold-emailed ICOs from Chiang Mai to pitch a new idea, give tokens to people who join your Telegram and follow your socials, and the first campaigns ran through our own site. We also wrote the first airdrop smart contract, the Oyster Pearl distribution that went live on Ethereum on November 14, 2017. That format became the airdrop everyone knows, and the receipts are in the AirdropAlert origin story.

Nine years later the site has tested more than 13,000 campaigns, published over 5,000 vetted listings and served tens of millions of airdrop hunters across 180 countries. We are crypto enthusiasts first. Everyone on the team farms airdrops, trades, and keeps their own wallets clean, which is why our guides read the way they do.

Our track record

On the Frontlines Since the Start

Airdrops changed shape every cycle, and we were usually there before the shape had a name. We invented the task-based airdrop in 2017, ran our own exclusive campaigns with manual verification and a homemade bulk emailer through 2018, and watched quest platforms productise the same model years later. After that came retroactive airdrops, the NFT airdrop wave, points seasons, DEX airdrops and tokenized stock airdrops, and we wrote an early guide on each one as it emerged. How those first campaigns actually worked is in our exclusive airdrops throwback, and every airdrop type we have seen since is covered in the full picture of crypto airdrops.

That head start is still the job. We join every campaign ourselves before it goes on the site, flag the scams, and keep a close eye on every major hack and breach so you hear about it from us first.

How we are built

From Two to Fifteen and Back to Four

AirdropAlert started as a two-person project. During the 2018 and 2021 cycles the team grew to fifteen people across content, development, campaign management and support, then scaled back down as the industry matured and the tooling improved. Today we are four, and that number works.

A small team that farms, writes and ships every day beats a large one that watches from the outside.

Team size by year. Peaks follow the cycles, the core stayed.
Where they went

Where Our Alumni Went

We have always recruited young, curious people with a strong interest in emerging markets, and most of them moved on to things we are proud to list.

When someone leaves AirdropAlert, we wish them well and keep in touch. A few of them still send us airdrop tips.
