Katana is the first OP Stack rollup live on Polygon’s AggLayer, built using CDK‑opgeth and secured by Succinct‘s ZK validity proofs. Focused on capital efficiency, it funnels liquidity into a few high-impact DeFi primitives and recycles protocol fees into app-level rewards and ecosystem growth.
VaultBridge routes pre-deposited ETH, USDC, USDT, and WBTC into Yearn vaults on Ethereum. At mainnet, deposits unlock as vbTokens on Katana, which can be deployed into Sushi LPs to earn real yield from upstream strategies like Morpho—turning idle capital into productive flow.
$KAT is not a gas token, governance token, or bridge controller—it’s a mechanism for aligning value across apps. Once transferable (no later than Feb 20, 2026), users can lock it into vKAT to direct emissions and earn a portion of protocol-generated revenue across multiple layers.
Katana’s modified ve(3,3) design rewards sustained usage rather than emissions farming. vKAT holders amplify working protocols, and as activity compounds, emissions can phase out entirely—replaced by sequencer fees and vault returns powering long-term network sustainability.
