facebook changes policy on crypto advertisement

Nearly one year after Facebook banned cryptocurrency advertising, they have changed their policy on it.
In an update announced yesterday, the social media giant revealed that ads involving blockchain technology, industry updates and educational blogs related to crypto will no longer need written approval by Facebook.
However, this doesn't mean anything goes. It's not the wild west all over again. The new policy states that ads related to ICO's are still prohibited. This is bad news for our clients who are looking to market their ICO in 2019. However, for our users, this could mean that the fundraising stat ups still look for airdrops to exposure their projects to a crowd. Good news, as airdrops are filling up faster again these days.
After recent developments surrounding the "Facebook coin", one might ask himself if the policy changes are related to that. It doesn't look like the social media platform can be completely unbiased surrounding the topic anymore.
What Facebook's policy is regarding advertisement for airdrops is unclear at this point. Once we tested the waters and have some tangible results, we'll make sure to release another update.
Until then, make sure to like us on Facebook for regular updates on airdrops & bounties.
