Vechain and BMW partnership announcement
On April 18th, at the blockchain summit in San Francisco, Vechain announced exciting news about the partnership with automobile giant BMW. The new service is called VerifyCar and will be on the VeChainThor network.
The new application tackles the rising issue of mileage fraud, which is estimated at one-third of vehicles in Germany. VerifyCar is a digital passport that monitors usage and maintenance history.
Cihan Albay, Lead IT Tech Office of BMW’s Singapore office, show cased the new app on stage at the summit. It's been created by the BMW team and his comments on the partnership with Vechain are:
"VeChain has successfully gone through the BMW Startup Garage program and BMW is still working with VeChain on a client based relationship."
VeChain joined the BMW startup Garage program last year, from which they have been working on blockchain related apps.
Normally we would make a humoures comment that an airdrop would be possible in the future, to suggest there could be future an earning oppertunity. To get your hands on some a BMW airdrop would be nice right?
Even though there is no immediate airdrop, it's great to see big corparations experimenting with blockchain. After we recently reported about Airbnb, Facebook and even BitTorrent, we now see our favourite automobile company joining the crypto industry.
