@WalletConnect, the onchain UX ecosystem that powers over 40,000 apps and 600+ wallets across 150+ blockchain networks, has officially rebranded to Reown, marking a new chapter in its mission to deliver seamless and secure interactions for millions of users.

In a groundbreaking announcement, the WalletConnect Foundation has introduced the imminent launch of its native $WCT governance token on Optimism’s OP Mainnet, which will drive the network’s security and decentralization along with node operators, empowering users, apps, and wallets through shared incentives.

Although we are still in extremely early stages toward mainnet, with more information to be released in the coming weeks, WalletConnect has allocated 17.5% of the total supply for staking and performance rewards, along with 18.5% for seasonal airdrops to users, apps, wallets, nodes, and more, starting at the end of 2024.
