Taiko Alpha-2 Testnet
Taiko ZK-EVM Alpha-2 testnet is live! Following the previous Taiko Alpha 1 Testnet, Alpha-2 Testnet continues the trend of Icelandic volcanos and is called Askja. Let’s scale this mountain on the road to scaling Ethereum securely as the Mainnet launch approaches!
Taiko is thrilled to reach a milestone towards scaling Ethereum in a secure and seamless manner for developers and users, and is inching closer to a fully decentralized Ethereum-equivalent ZK-EVM. They express gratitude to the community and contributors and hope they will join in using and testing the second public Testnet release as there is still a long way to go.
About Taiko
Taiko is a fully decentralized, Ethereum-equivalent ZK-Rollup that scales Ethereum in a manner that emulates Ethereum as closely as possible – both technically and non-technically – by supporting all ZK-EVM opcodes in a layer-2 architecture that is decentralized, permissionless, and secure.
Vitalik Buterin described the development of Taiko as a "Fascinating Work". Taiko aims to be a Type-1 ZK-EVM, prioritising perfect EVM/Ethereum equivalence over ZK-proof generation speed.
