Meme coin airdrops are token distributions from meme projects to wallets that were active in the meme ecosystem before launch. The best ones, like BONK, rewarded people for simply being there: trading, holding, minting, and showing up on-chain. There’s no big meme coin airdrop to farm right now, and I’d rather say that than list five duds. What I can tell you is what the last big ones had in common, why the two most-hyped promised drops never came, and how to be positioned when the next one lands.
We update this page whenever a meme airdrop is actually worth your time.
BONK: The Blueprint
BONK is the reference case. In December 2022, in the middle of the FTX wreckage, a Solana dog coin airdropped half its supply to the Solana community. NFT holders, active traders, developers, and wallets that had used the chain got tokens in their wallets for doing nothing new. Nobody filled out a form.
It went on to become one of the largest meme coins in existence, and early recipients who held made life-changing money. The lesson isn’t that BONK was lucky. The lesson is who it chose to reward: people who were already active on-chain. That pattern repeats in almost every meme airdrop that has paid out well since.
If you want the story of the man behind it, our Bonkguy profile covers it.
The Two That Never Came
Two meme-ecosystem airdrops soaked up more farming effort than any others, and neither paid out the way people expected.
Pump.fun. The launchpad behind most of Solana’s meme trading teased an airdrop for its users for well over a year. Millions of wallets kept trading through it in anticipation. The token eventually launched through a sale, not a distribution, and the user airdrop everyone farmed for still hasn’t arrived. We covered what did come in our Pump.fun holder rewards post.
Photon. The trading bot ran a points system and openly promised an airdrop. I ran over $2 million in volume through it myself, tracking it in my 2024 meme trading post, and the drop never came. Points went to zero and the promise quietly disappeared. Good thing my PnL was green, because the airdrop would have been the only reason to route that much through one bot.
The takeaway is the same as with Telegram tap-to-earn: a points system is a marketing tool, not a commitment. Trade through these platforms because you want to trade, and treat any airdrop as a bonus. Never generate volume you wouldn’t otherwise generate just for a promised drop.
The Current Trend: Tokenized Stocks for Meme Holders
The meme airdrop that’s actually happening in 2026 doesn’t look like BONK at all. Meme coins are airdropping tokenized stocks to their holders. MARSCOIN holders received SpaceX exposure, and a wave of copycats followed on Robinhood Chain and Solana.
It flips the model. Instead of a new meme coin dropping to existing wallets, an existing meme coin drops a real-world asset to its own holders. We broke down the mechanics in our tokenized stock airdrops explainer and the legal side in are tokenized stock airdrops legal. The MARSCOIN case specifically is in our MARSCOIN guide.
This trend rewards holders, which means the positioning question becomes: which meme coins are likely to do it next? Watch for teams that already talk about revenue sharing, hold a treasury, or sit in an ecosystem with tokenized-stock rails.
How to Position for the Next Meme Coin Airdrop
You can’t farm what hasn’t been announced. What you can do is be the kind of wallet that gets included when the next BONK-style drop happens. Everything below assumes you’re already trading memes somewhere sensible; if you’re not, our guide to the best places to trade meme coins is where to start. Three places to be active.
Trade on Dexscreener and in the trenches
Every big meme airdrop so far has snapshotted on-chain activity. Wallets that traded memes, held memes, and interacted with meme contracts get included. Wallets that sat in stables on a CEX don’t. Our Dexscreener review covers the tool most people use to find and track those trades. Use a dedicated wallet for it and keep it active.
Use the FOMO app
FOMO is the mobile meme trading app with the fastest-growing user base in the space, and apps like it are exactly where a future airdrop snapshot lands. It has no token yet. Being an early, active user costs nothing beyond the trades you’d make anyway. Read our FOMO app review first, then sign up with our link and use code FairSaltySquid for 10% off fees.
Be early in the Robinhood ecosystem
Robinhood Chain is where the tokenized-stock meme trend is playing out, and it’s young enough that early wallets still stand out. Our Robinhood meme coins list covers the coins, and the Robinhood launchpads guide covers where they launch. Trade a little, hold a little, mint a little.
The wider cheat sheet for what’s worth holding sits in our ultimate meme coin shill list. If you’re going to hold memes waiting for a drop, hold the ones with a reason to exist.
What to Avoid
- Volume for a promise. Pump.fun and Photon showed how that ends.
- Unaudited “holder airdrop” contracts. Before you buy a coin because it promises a drop, run it through our memecoin due diligence checklist. Five minutes.
- Claim pages from DMs. Meme airdrops attract the most claim-page phishing of any category. Claim only through the project’s official site or our listing.
- Main wallet exposure. Meme trading wallets sign a lot of contracts. Keep them separate from anything you can’t afford to lose.
When a meme airdrop worth farming does appear, it goes on new airdrops with a step-by-step guide, and this page gets a proper list section again.
Keep This Content Free
Meme airdrop research is mostly watching wallets and reading contracts, and nobody pays us to do it. If you trade memes on a CEX, OKX and Bybit list the bigger ones early, and signing up through our links keeps the listings free. The FOMO link above does the same for on-chain.
Final Words
Meme coin airdrops are the highest-variance category in crypto. BONK made people rich for being active. Pump.fun and Photon burned people for being loyal. The current wave pays existing holders in stocks, which nobody predicted a year ago.
The only reliable strategy is the boring one. Be active in the meme ecosystem with a wallet you can afford to expose, trade what you’d trade anyway, and let the snapshots find you. The next BONK will not announce itself. It will just show up in the wallets that were there.

FAQ
What are meme coin airdrops?
Free token distributions from meme coin projects, usually to wallets that were active in the meme ecosystem before launch, or to existing holders of the coin.
Was there a Pump.fun airdrop?
Not the one users farmed for. The PUMP token launched through a sale and the promised user airdrop has not materialised.
What was the biggest meme coin airdrop?
BONK in December 2022, which distributed half its supply to the Solana community and went on to become one of the largest meme coins.
Are there any meme coin airdrops right now?
No large ones worth farming. The current trend is meme coins airdropping tokenized stocks to their existing holders. Watch the new airdrops feed for anything we list.
How do I qualify for a meme coin airdrop?
Be active on-chain in the meme ecosystem: trade through tools like Dexscreener and FOMO, hold meme coins in a self-custody wallet, and participate early in young ecosystems like Robinhood Chain.
What are tokenized stock airdrops?
Meme coins distributing tokenized shares of real companies to their holders. MARSCOIN started it with SpaceX exposure, and others have followed.
