MetaMask Money Account Rewards
Earn up to 6% variable APY on mUSD through MetaMask Money Account Rewards. The balance stays fully liquid, so participants can transfer, trade, withdraw, or spend it with the MetaMask Card at any time. Eligible Card purchases also earn up to 3% cashback, paid out in mUSD.
🪂 Earn Up to 6% mUSD Yield and 3% Card Cashback
Add funds to MetaMask Money Account and the mUSD balance starts earning automatically. Earnings appear directly in the account, so there is nothing to claim or reinvest. The APY is variable, and the current rate is always shown in MetaMask.
MetaMask Card pays cashback in mUSD on eligible purchases. The Virtual Card earns 1%, while the Metal Card earns 3% on the first $10,000 spent each year and 1% afterward. Cashback is deposited into Money Account automatically. New Metal Card orders are currently paused, but the Virtual Card remains available in supported regions.
What is MetaMask Money Account?
MetaMask Money Account is a self-custodial account within MetaMask. It holds mUSD and earns DeFi yield while keeping the balance available for spending, transfers, and trading. The wallet holder controls the private keys, and MetaMask cannot access, freeze, or move the funds.
The yield comes from third-party smart-contract vaults that allocate funds to lending markets such as Aave and Morpho. Interest paid by borrowers generates the return. Veda maintains the vault contracts, while Steakhouse Financial monitors allocations, liquidity, and risk controls. The APY shown in Money Account is the net rate after applicable product and protocol fees.
mUSD is the dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by Bridge, a Stripe company, through the M0 protocol. Each mUSD is backed 1:1 by US dollars and short-term US Treasury bills held in regulated custody. The token is supported on Ethereum, Linea, and Monad.
The mUSD balance stays available for everyday use. It can be spent through MetaMask Card, sent to a compatible wallet, withdrawn, or used with Swaps, Perps, tokenized assets, and Prediction Markets. Any mUSD moved outside Money Account stops earning.

Set Up or Update Your MetaMask Wallet
Install MetaMask or update your existing wallet before getting started.
→ New users: Download the MetaMask Mobile app or browser extension and create a wallet.
→ Existing users: Update MetaMask through the App Store or Google Play. Browser users can update the extension through their browser’s extension manager.
💡 Keep your Secret Recovery Phrase securely offline. Never share it with a website, support account, or reward page. MetaMask is available as both a mobile app and browser extension.

Add Funds and Earn Up to 6% APY
Select Money Account, and add funds to start earning variable yield on mUSD.
→ Tap Add and choose one of the available funding methods: convert a supported stablecoin into mUSD, buy mUSD through a card or bank provider, or transfer mUSD from another wallet.
→ Enter the amount, review the route and any displayed costs, then confirm. The mUSD balance starts earning automatically after the funds arrive.
💡 Money Account is available globally except in the UK and countries on the US sanctions list. Opening the account and holding mUSD do not require identity verification, although MetaMask Card and fiat payment providers may require KYC.
